INDEX TO JEWISH WEBSITES

Our Index to Jewish Web Sites began with lists provided in three print issues of the Chicago Jewish News. Our new online version allows you to enter a site to be considered for inclusion. See below for instructions.

If you are currently in The Index to Jewish Web Sites and would like to set up access to your record to manage it now and in the future, please follow these steps carefully:

  • Create a login (registration)
  • Go to your email to receive your registration confirmation
  • Highlight and copy the password sent to you
  • Return to the Chicago Jewish News home page
  • Look for the LOGIN link at the bottom of the left gold navigation column
  • Click on the LOGIN link, and login using your email address and password (paste in the password you copied from your registration confirmation)
  • Go to your record by entering some KEYWORDS from it
  • Highlight your entire record, and PRINT (you can print "selected text")
  • Return to the Search screen (use the back button on your browser, or click on "Guide" in the upper left corner of the center (white) column
  • On the Search screen, select the following link to create a new record which you will own:

    CREATE A NEW RECORD


  • Enter your information as it appears on the page you printed into the fields provided
  • Be sure to click SUBMIT
  • You now own this record and will be able to edit it as needed

PLEASE NOTE: You WILL NOT be able to enter a description or edit descriptions. If you are already listed in The Index to Jewish Web Sites (you were able to find and print your listing), then we will use the description as it is.


To EDIT your listing or request DELETION, you must have created the record with your login. Using the login for the account used to create the record, please follow these steps carefully:

  • LOGIN to the site by clicking on the LOGIN link at the bottom of the left gold navigation column
  • SEARCH for your record using keywords and/or a category
  • When your record is returned to you, if you are authorized to access the record (you must be logged in using the account which was used to create the record), you will see the words "Edit Entry" at the lower right of the box the record is in
  • Edit as needed, or select "Delete" at the bottom of the form
  • When you have finished your work, please be sure to click SUBMIT

PLEASE NOTE: You WILL NOT be able to enter a description or edit descriptions. If you require a change in your description, please send us an email via the Contact Us form on this site. Be sure to indicate your url or the name of your site in the email.
