Sheryl Adelman Kimmel and her husband James, after Sheryl received a PhD in American Studies from the University of Kansas, where she works. Sheryl did her dissertation on the philanthropic career of prominent Chicago Jewish leader Maynard Wishner. Sheryl, a graduate of New Trier High School, is the daughter of longtime Chicago Jewish leader Caryn Rosen Adelman.

Linda and Albert Stark recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Congregation Beth Judea in Long Grove. Both have served the synagogue in numerous ways since joining it in 1977.

Several Sisterhood members of Congregation Shaare Tikvah B'nai Zion in Chicago have embroidered a 12-panel Torah cover, each panel representing one of the tribes of Israel.
